Micro-interactions That Matter

Small moments of delight that build trust and communicate system state.

A button that pulses when loading. A form field that shakes when validation fails. A notification that slides in from exactly the right direction. These are micro-interactions — the small, purposeful animations and responses that make a product feel alive.

Done well, micro-interactions make users feel in control and informed. Done poorly, they're noise. The line between delightful and distracting is thinner than it seems.

We'll share the micro-interactions we've designed across our products, the principles behind each one, and the failures that taught us what not to do. Every one of these was earned through user confusion at some point.
