Signal

Signal was born from our own frustration with noise. Slack is great for real-time chat, but terrible for async work. Email is great for formality, but terrible for collaboration. Signal sits in between.

The core insight: most work communication doesn't need an immediate response. Signal treats threads as the primary unit, not messages. You respond when it makes sense, not because a notification pressured you into it.

We built Signal in four months with a team of two. It's been our primary communication tool ever since, and the calm it creates is something we didn't know we were missing.
